If y'all ain a domain (for example, mydomain.com), ProtonMail allows y'all to create a custom e-mail address that uses your domain name instead of our regular @protonmail.com, @protonmail.ch, or @pm.me domains.

To set upwardly a custom email address with a domain hosted by Bluehost so that you can use information technology to send and receive emails with ProtonMail, y'all need to change your domain's DNS records.

If you use a different domain registrar, we accept set up up guides for Amazon Web Services, GoDaddy, Namecheap, OVH, Cloudflare, Gandi, and Google Domains. Add your custom domain to ProtonMail

1. Log in to your ProtonMail account and become to Settings →Get to settings →Arrangement →Domain names → Add together domain.

2. Enter your domain proper name and click Next.

4. Enter your ProtonMail password (and two-factor authorization lawmaking, if enabled) and click Submit. You are now on the start page of our domain setup sorcerer.

Verify that you own the domain

1. Log in to your Bluehost account and select the domain you would like to use.

2. Go to Manage → DNS and select Blazon: TXT.  Enter the following values:

• Proper noun/Host Record: @ (If the @ value is not accepted, enter your domain instead)
• TXT Value: Go back to the Verify tab in ProtonMail custom domain setup window. Re-create the text from the VALUE / DATA / POINTS TO cavalcade to the TXT Value field in your Bluehost console.
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS record faster.

Click Save when yous are washed.

Create MX records in Bluehost

1. Open your Bluehost domain panel, get to Type: MX, and enter the following values:

• Priority: ten
• Host Record: @ (If the @ value is non accustomed, enter your domain instead)
• Points to: post.protonmail.ch
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS records faster.

Click Relieve when you are done.

two. Create a second MX tape using these values:

• Type: MX
• Priority: 20
• Host Tape: @ (If the @ value is not accepted, enter your domain instead)
• Points to: mailsec.protonmail.ch
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS records faster.

Click Save when yous are washed.

Create SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records

For security reasons, we recommend adding SPF and DKIM records. Setting up DMARC is an optional, avant-garde feature.

Earlier you beginning, open your ProtonMail domain console (Business relationship → Settings → Overview → Manage account (in sidebar to right of folio) → Organization → Custom Domains → [your domain] → Action → Review). Get out this page open.

SPF and DMARC records are set upwardly in a similar way to TXT records, using the DNS option for your domain in the Bluehost console.

i. To create the SPF record, become to TXT type → Add record and enter and Save the following values:

• Host Record: @ (If the @ value isn't accustomed, enter your domain instead)
• TXT Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.protonmail.ch mx ~all
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS record faster.

2. To create the DKIM record, go to Type: CNAME and enter the following values:

• Host Tape: protonmail._domainkey
• Points to: Copy and paste in the text string from the VALUE / DATA / POINTS TO column of the DKIM tab of your ProtonMail domain console.
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS tape faster.

Note: The registrar might not accept the record if in that location is a dot (.) at the stop of the Points to entry. If you receive a warning/mistake message, simply remove the dot from the end of the record.

You should also add a second and third DKIM record.  Repeat the above steps with the appropriate tape names "protonmail2._domainkey" and "protonmail3._domainkey".

3. To create the DMARC record, go to Type: TXT and enter the post-obit values:

• Host Record: _dmarc
• TTL: Select the lowest possible value to update your DNS record faster.
• TXT Valueastward: Copy and paste in the text string in the VALUE / DATA / POINTS TO cavalcade of  the DMARC tab of your ProtonMail domain console.

Choose your electronic mail address

Add your new custom address in the ProtonMail window past choosing your username, the display proper name, and your electronic mail signature. You should now be able to use your new custom domain e-mail address.
